PortalEditions nace en 2008 con la ambición de ofrecer al lector una puerta de entrada al universo artístico de los mejores autores de literatura imaginativa, tanto a través de reediciones de los grandes clásicos (Expresiones) como mediante obras ensayísticas (Exploraciones). Partimos de la convicción de que la literatura imaginativa de calidad, lejos de ser una expresión de escapismo, puede enseñarnos mucho acerca de nuestro propio mundo. Pretendemos que nuestros libros sean un pasaporte para viajar a universos que no sólo nos sorprenderán, sino que sobre todo abrirán nuestros ojos ante nuevas perspectivas que puedan ayudarnos a afrontar los retos intelectuales, artísticos, espirituales y sociales que nuestro propio mundo nos plantea en el momento actual.

PortalEditions was founded in 2008 with the aim of offering readers a gateway to the artistic universes of the best writers of imaginative literature. We publish both annotated editions of the great classics (Expressions) and academic monographs (Explorations). We firmly believe that good imaginative literature, however unfamiliar its settings, is far from being escapist; rather, it has a unique potential to teach us about our own world. In this sense, our publications are meant to be portals to places that will not only stimulate our imagination, but also give us new perspectives to help us face the intellectual, artistic, spiritual and social challenges posed by the modern world, today.

PortalEditions 2008an sortu zen, irakurleei irudimenezko literaturako idazle onenen unibertso artistikorako sarbide bat eskaintzeko helburuarekin, klasiko handien berrargitalpenen bidez (Expresiones) zein saiakera-lanen bidez (Exploraciones). Uste osoa dugu irudimenezko literatura ona ez dela ihes- nahiaren adierazpen hutsa; aitzitik, ziur gaude gauza asko irakats diezagukeela geure munduari buruz. Hala, gure liburuak beste unibertso batzuetara bidaiatzeko pasaportea izatea nahi dugu: harritu eta liluratu ez ezik, begiak irekiko dizkiguten unibertsoetara, gaur egun geure munduak planteatzen dizkigun erronka intelektual, artistiko, espiritual eta sozialei aurre egiteko lagungarri.

El Proyecto Espantapájaros ha sido desarrollado por la Asociación para el fomento de la educación Portal. Esta organización sin ánimo de lucro, fundada en 2009, tiene como objetivo la aplicación de las nuevas tecnologías en la enseñanza de la literatura y las lenguas.

El Proyecto Espantapájaros ofrece un marco natural para trabajar la literatura, las lenguas, la reflexión y la convivencia en el aula. Con él, el estudiante participa de forma activa en el proceso de aprendizaje utilizando la literatura, el cine y las nuevas tecnologías. Como lenguas vehiculares se utilizan español e inglés, así como otras lenguas oficiales minoritarias como el euskera.

The Scarecrow Project is developed by the Asociación para el fomento de la educación Portal. This non-profit organization was founded in 2009 with the aim of developing ground-breaking innovative methodologies for the teaching of literature and language.

The Scarecrow Project offers a natural approach to working with literature, languages, and ethics in the classroom. The student participates actively in the learning process by means of an innovative use of fiction, videos and new technologies. The Project is developed in Spanish and English, as well as other official minority languages such as Basque.

Txorimalo Proiektuak inguru natural bat eskaintzen du ikasgelan literatura, hizkuntzak, gogoeta eta bizikidetza lantzeko. Hari esker, ikasleak aktiboki hartzen du parte ikaskuntza-prozesuan, literaturaz, zineaz eta teknologia berriez baliatuz. Irakaskuntza-hizkuntzak gaztelania eta ingelesa dira, baita beste hizkuntza ofizial batzuk ere, hala nola euskara.
